Cracovia played the last two games of the league first round. First Pasy lost in Łęczna after a mediocre game, later Cracovia beat Widzew at home in some style. This last win means, that our club will have a calm winter-break, as Pasy are in the top half in the table. Yet the end of the league does not mean the end of emotions, as three games of the League Cup group stage are to be played before the break.

Górnik Łęczna is one of the relegation battlers, but in the game against Cracovia they fought bravely and deserved three badly-needed points. Górnik had a good chance early into the game, but Cabaj saved Bajevki’s fantastic shot. In 25th minute Andruszczak smartly dived into the penalty area, which resulted in the penalty for Łęczna. Bajevski this time gave Cabaj no chance and scored the only goal of the match. Later into the game Cracovia was surprisingly passive and created only one good chance, but Kurowski’s shot was saved. Stefan Majewski, Cracovia’s coach, was disappointed after the game and declared some changes in the first squad. Despite having scored after a dubious penalty this was a deserved win for Górnik Łęczna.
Pasy had opportunity to rehabilitate when Widzew Łódź came to Kałuży. Majewski, who coached Widzew in the last two seasons and won the promotion to the top league with that club, changed the line-up, but these changes were made in the result of injuries. Our brilliant winger Szwajdych and strong full-back Radwański suffered from bad injuries and will not play this year anymore. The game begun with Cracovia attacks, but, surprisingly it was Widzew that scored first. Napoleoni passed a good ball to the right side to Budka, who made use from Nowak’s poor marking and scored with a powerful shot from the distance. Later Widzew’s young talent Grzelak had a good chance, but missed. Just a minute from the half-time Bojarski played a nice one-two with Giza and centered the ball into the area, where it was deflected by defenders, and that allowed Giza to score the equalizer. Just seconds later Pasy had a corner, but Baran’s header was saved. The second half was Cracovia show – our team dominated the field and Widzew could not create any serious chance. Unfortunately, Pasy scored only once when Bania was fouled just outside the penalty area and Giza scored with a fine free-kick. This was the fifth goal of the season for the creative midfielder. Later Pawlusiński had the best chance to finish-off the rivals, but his tricky lob hit the upper net. Widzew was frustrated with Cracovia’s domination, which resulted in many bookings and one red card. This was a truly confident victory for the end of the league round. Now Cracovia will play again in Łęczna on Wednesday and later will face Korona Kielce and Widzew once more at Kałuży in the League Cup Group Stage.
