According to the legend, in 1923 or 1924 Cracovia players after celebrating New Year’s Eve decided to play a game at Kałuży Stadium. Since then they meet at the stadium every year and the New Year’s Training became Cracovia’s distinctive landmark. The training is actually a game between the first team and the reserve team, but the line-ups may be mixed. For thousands of fans it is a perfect opening of the New Year, although to get to the stadium may be a huge effort, given the exhausting way we celebrate. But once you are there the hangover disappears and you are happy, that you take part in the celebration.

In 2007 game Cracovia II beat Cracovia I 5:3 and the first goal was scored at 12:05 by Tomasz Moskała. But the result is not the most important – what matters is that during the long winter break we can all meet and watch some football of our team. And pay homage to the beautiful tradition, which, especially in Kraków, is a sacred thing.
