Hockey came back to town!
It was a long time since our hockey-team played in Kraków. After winning the Championship in 2006 the reconstruction of the hockey arena started, so the team had to play all the games in Katowice. The fans could not see the games. But the big day finally came and the golden team came home. And they returned in style, beating TKH Toruń 5-2.
Cracovia hockey fans were longing to see their team in action; reading press news was not enough. After an average start of the season Pasy climbed up to the top of the table and finished the year 2006 as the leader. The first game of the New Year happened to be the first game in front of their own audience. The game was sold out as some 4000 fans came to see the show. After the first goalless period Cracovia’s captain Podlipni scored the opener in 25th minute. Toruń equalized some five minutes later, but Pasy put their nose in front in the last seconds of the period after Daniel Laszkiewicz’s goal. In the first minutes of the third period Pasy crushed TKH scoring three goals within three minutes! After Prokop’s, Jastrzębski’s and Leszek Laszkiewicz’s (Daniel’s brother) goals the fans went mad and cheered for the master’s team. Second goal for Toruń some six minutes before the end did not change the general mood or feelings – this was a confident and deserved victory, tenth in a row. A perfect way to show, that hockey came back to Kraków.
