Football and hockey make it busy days for Cracovia fans. But nobody is complaining.
In the last three games Pasy won 4 points. That is less than we had been counting for. The good news is that hockey season started and our team is playing quiet well.
After beating Jagiellonia at home 2:0, Pasy were hoping to gain another three points, facing Łodzki KS at Kałuży St. Our rivals were in poor form, but their goalkeeper Wyparło was the man of the match, and made it to the league’s Team of the Week. His saves were incredible and he had a lot of work, as Cracovia created chances with ease. Once Wyparło was helpless, but Dudzic’s great shot hit the bar. Cabaj, on the contrary, did not have a lot of shots to save, but he also can count himself lucky, as Szot’s powerful drive hit the post and Sikora, who took the rebound, missed the empty goal. At the end of the day it was a good, though goalless match.
A week later Cracovia traveled to Zabrze, where Pasy never won. This horrible series continued, as Pasy lost 0:1 after a goal that should not have been scored. Jarka’s shot was poor as he did not hit the ball cleanly, but Cabaj made a fatal mistake and pushed the ball into the goal. What a nightmare! As Pasy on away game perform far worse than at home, no wonder they could not equalize. Three games, zero points, zero scored goals – that is season’s away games record for Cracovia.
After a bad game against Górnik, a pause for National Team matches came. It looks like coach Majewski and his team worked hard to improve style, as the game against Dyskobolia at home was a really good show. It took just five minutes to score the first goal. After Pawlusiński’s 70-meter pass Witkowski scored his first goal ever for Cracovia. He could double his tally, but Dyskobolia’s goalie saved his 7-meter shot in an incredible style. Our rival’s goalie was the best player of the first half, as ha also saved two great shots by Nowak, while Moskała’s try was cleared off the line by defender. Some seven minutes into the second half Dyskobolia equalized after Lato’s corner and Piechniak’s shot, but later Moskała scored twice within just two minutes. In 60th min. Przyrowski missed the ball after Nowak’s cross, Bojarski tried to score on an empty goal, but the ball hit Moskała and he got his name on the score sheet. Two minutes later Przyrowski saved Moskała’s one-on-one shot, as well as Bojarkski’s rebound, but could do nothing about Wiśniewski’s pass and Moskała’s shot. That goal was a gift from Dyskobolia’s defense line. This was a confident win, as Pasy should have scored twice as many goals. The away team also had a good chance, but after a corner Nowak cleared the ball from the line.
In the meantime the hockey season kicked off. In pundits opinion Cracovia should finish in top-three, while many believe that Pasy will win the Championship. So far Cracovia is winning all the home games and is defeated away from Kraków. In the season opener Pasy crushed Naprzód Janów 7:2, and a few days later lost in Sanok 2:5. Cracovia quickly rehabilitated demolishing last season’s champions Podhale 7:2, but soon lost to last year’s runners-up GKS Tychy. In the fifth game Cracovia easily beat Polonia Bytom 6:1. Our top-scored so far is Pasiut with 5 goals, while last year’s MVP L. Laszkiewicz scored no goals, but has 5 assists. Piotrowski has 9 points for 2 goals and 7 assists.
